Also, AHS lost three key role players in Brandon Kim, DJ Escamilla, and Kevin Leroy. This year’s team loses four starters from last year: Kenny Finco, Jackson Abresch, Dom Todarello, and Kyle Keranen. Last season, the AHS basketball boys team lost in the first sectional game to the Germantown Warhawks, 61-46, ending their 2012 basketball season. Tryouts for the boy’s basketball team are on November 11th, 12th, and 13th in the north campus east gym. They are now held on Mondays and Wednesdays for anyone who would like to attend from 3 to 4:30 PM. Open gyms started on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, in the North Campus West gym. Schools are often among the largest waste generators in any city, county, or state. The club decided to take on an ambitious project for the 2021-22 school year: a school-wide Earth Day event to develop a composting program with the goal of reducing waste production, and offsetting their school’s paper usage. The Earth Club consists of 51 students, including president Ellie Hostetler, and club advisors Dennis Mechenich and Michael Hall.
